High School Students Measure Stream Flow

Career and Technical Education High School Students Measure Stream Velocity in McKay Creek

Students in the Career and Technical Education class measure stream flow on McKay Creek, just north of Prineville. They stretch a measuring tape across the creek and then use a water velocity meter and sounding rod to measure depth and stream velocity. They do this at several points of the stream and then calculate the total volume of water flowing.
