Oregon Trail: A 40 Year Tradition continues at Cecil Sly Elementary

Fourth graders at Cecil Sly have been studying the Oregon Trail the last couple of months through Storyline, novels, discussions and acting. We are finishing our study with our Annual Oregon Trail Program, a longstanding Crook County tradition that depicts western expansion from Lewis and Clark to the pioneers settling in Oregon. Students act, sing and dance their way through history. This play, originally written by Peg Ontko, has been performed in 4th grade classrooms in Crook County for approximately 40 years, and Cecil Sly is proud to continue the tradition
