Pioneer South Open House – April 10, 2017

With the interior of the new Pioneer South building now complete and everyone moved in during Spring Break, a celebratory Open House was held on April 10th just prior to the district Board Meeting.  This building located on First Street, which formerly housed kindergarten through third grade students as part of the old Crooked River Elementary, now houses the Pioneer Alternative High School, Technology Department, District Production Kitchen and Therapeutic Learning Center.

The Pioneer program now has a total of five classrooms, more educational technology, new furniture, a multi-purpose room/cafeteria, and easier access to the “Pioneer Gym”.

The Technology Department now has a bright and open space to work that includes furniture donated by Les Schwab.

The Production Kitchen has all new commercial equipment including a walk-in freezer and cooler, range, kettle, ovens and dishwasher.

Very soon the exterior of the building will be painted to highlight the art deco architecture.

Carpet has been installed in the new IT office and offices by the front entry.  Almost all of the vinyl flooring has been installed in the rest of the building and most of the interior painting is completed.  The walk-in freezer and cooler for the Production Kitchen are being installed and all the new furniture for the building has been delivered.  The IT department moved to their space during Christmas break and is getting settled in.  The current plan calls for the Pioneer Alternative High School to move in during Spring Break.
