This summer one hundred and twenty incoming kindergarten students participated in Crook County School District’s Jump Start program.  The program was held at both Crooked River Elementary and Barnes Butte Elementary schools.  During this two week summer program, students learned routines, became familiar with their schools, and developed relationships with classmates and school staff.  Transportation and nutrition services were provided and students received backpacks and school supplies for the coming year. Funding for the Jump Start program comes from a grant through the Oregon Community Foundation.
