Crooked River Elementary has keyboards!

Students at Crooked River Elementary love their new keyboards that were purchased with grant funds donated by the Autzen Foundation. “We are teaching so much math, reading, spelling, and science with them,” says Mrs. Deboodt, Music Teacher at Crooked River Elementary. Quarter notes, half notes, and whole notes reinforce math concepts such as fractions, and learning to read the music is like learning a different language. Students learn to make sense of patterns, spell new musical words, and learn about the science of how sound is made and how we hear it. And, of course, making music is simply fun.
