District staff trained in Trauma-Informed Care

Trauma Informed Care

Recently, approximately 18 district staff members participated in ‘Train the Trainer’ for Trauma-Informed Care.  In turn, these staff members then trained both certified and classified staff on October 12th during the district-wide staff development day. Trauma-Informed Care helps staff understand that children who have experienced Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACES) often have behavioral and physical challenges depending on the frequency and intensity of the trauma. Knowing the root of these challenges helps professional educators adapt the educational environment to lessen the frequency of activating traumatized youth.
