The sixth year of Kiwanis Summer School is in full swing. Nearly 50 students who have just completed kindergarten through third grade meet at Crooked River Elementary three mornings a week through Aug. 15 for summer school. Three Crook County School District teachers and three educational assistants lead the classrooms, and two high school students are volunteer assistants. The school district has a great partnership with the Prineville Kiwanis Club, which has enabled this program to run since 2014. Thank you, Kiwanis Club, for helping these students improve their reading and math skills.
