Workshop Encourages Internet Safety

Workshop encourages internet safety

Teens can spend as many as 9 hours a day on digital media. 93% of elementary students have access to tablets or smartphones, and 66% have their own device. Children aged 8 to 12 spend as many as 6 hours a day on digital media. Those are some stats and facts that Facebook Community Development Regional Manager William Marks shared Tuesday evening during the Digital Families Community Event at CCHS. After a Sandwich Factory catered dinner, families heard from experts about social media safety. Locals then led three breakout sessions on healthy online habits, internet privacy and online presence. Thank you, Facebook, for hosting this important internet safety workshop.
