Wall Ball
  • Line up outside white line and away from play area
  • Throw ball at wall only avoiding the roof
  • Be aware of your surroundings
  • During play don’t stand against the wall
  • Be aware of other players and try not to peg them

Basketball

Student Management System

Cecil Sly Elementary promotes and rewards responsible behavior.  Behavior expectations are taught, modeled, and reinforced throughout the school year.  When necessary, students will enter the school’s student management system which includes three levels.  Student due process is followed.

LEVEL 1 BEHAVIORS

  • Disruptive behaviors
    • Not malicious
    • Not chronic
  • Will not cause injury
  • Example:  talking during instruction

 

POSSIBLE CONSEQUENCES

  • Pulling a card
  • Teacher/student discussion
  • Change of seating
  • Behavior contract
  • Loss of recess/Time out
LEVEL 2 BEHAVIORS

  • Could result in unintentional harm
  • Are chronic (talking, disruptive)
  • Examples:  minor insubordination and/or disrespect (back talking, eye rolling, running in hall)

 

POSSIBLE CONSEQUENCES

  • Minor referral resulting in loss of recess or privileges
  • Copy of Minor referral will be mailed to parent(s)
  • Behavior contract
  • Warning
  • Progressive discipline
LEVEL 3 BEHAVIORS

  • Intentional harm (punching, kicking)
  • Illegal
  • Major insubordination
  • Profanity
  • Theft
  • Physically, emotionally, or verbally abusive acts toward others (profanity, threats, bullying, assault)
CONSEQUENCESMajor referral resulting in one of the following:

  • Detention
  • In-school suspension
  • Out of school suspension
  • Expulsion

Consequence depends on degree of offense, age of student, and number of prior referrals.
